and archive aging data tapes or disk storage to more efficient, longer life and cost effective file based storage. |
- The original tape based data and logical format are unaltered.
- The VTS archived tape images can be delivered via network or the Internet to remote sites for storage.
- The VTS archived tape images may later be accessed allowing the tape to be re-produced to its original physical
tape format or a more compatible tape format.
- Configurations are available allowing customer host systems direct access to the VTS stored tape images.
- The VTS system can also archive disk and optical media.
